SSH Access

SSH AccessTo enhance usability, there is frequent demand for SSH access to DaDesktop machines, allowing course participants and trainers to connect to their virtual Desktops from personal laptops or desktop PCs. It is understandable that many prefer executing commands via a local terminal rather than through a remote Desktop session.

However, while technically feasible, we do not enable SSH access in this context, as doing so would expose DaDesktop course machines to significant potential security risks.

To facilitate file management, a drag-and-drop file transfer feature has been implemented, enabling users to easily transfer files from their personal devices to the DaDesktop environment. Previously, the lack of a convenient file transfer method drove many requests for full SSH access; however, this new functionality now simplifies the DaDesktop experience considerably.

Furthermore, full QEMU Spice Desktop support is now available for Windows and Linux OS templates. This enhancement makes it significantly easier to copy and paste commands from your local machine to the DaDesktop environment, even when using macOS or working with non-English character sets.

For DDOP - DaDesktop on Premise servers, SSH access is permitted if required.
