Leveraging DaDesktop Virtual Desktops for Seamless Course Delivery

DaDesktop Virtual Desktops offer a streamlined solution for developing and delivering online courses globally.

Note: DaDesktop (DD) now supports the assignment of one or multiple trainers to a single course.

Each assigned trainer will have their own independent login to DaDesktop, granting them full control over the ‘Trainer Desktop’ as if it were their personal instance.

DaDesktop, and can control the Trainer Desktop

This model allows multiple trainers to participate in the audio conference, alternating control at suitable intervals. They can take command of the Trainer Desktop as needed. This setup is particularly beneficial for extended courses or sessions where input from two subject-matter experts adds value to the participant experience.

  1. Course coordinators will assist in the course creation process
  2. Add Trainer(s) to the course by sending the registration invitation link
  3. The Trainer will receive an email containing course details and a login link
  4. The Trainer(s) can sign in to their account via https://dd4t.dadesktop.com
  5. Then, distribute course invitations to participants (indicated in pink)
  6. Note: Even if multiple trainers are involved, there is always only one designated Trainer machine used

Step 2: Preparing Your "DaDesktop" Environment

  1. Select "Create from OS template" to set up the Fresh Start desktop. This serves as the development environment for the Trainer to build course content. Upon completion, this template is cloned to the Trainer Desktop and all Participants desktops. If you already have a 'Standalone' machine with your course content, use the dropdown arrow to select it instead.
  2. Choose the appropriate OS template, select the nearest datacenter, and configure the settings required for your training. Click 'Create Desktop'.
  3. Connect to the desktop and finalize your course preparations within the DaDesktop VM.

Step 3: Cloning the Desktop for All Participants

  1. Complete the setup of the "Fresh Start desktop", exit the session, and click to stop this desktop.
  2. In the Trainer section, click "Create from Fresh Start desktop" to clone a desktop that mirrors the fresh start machine.
  3. If delegates are located in different regions, use the dropdown on "Create from Fresh-Start Trainer desktop" to clone the desktop to the delegate's specific region.
  4. Additional options are available via the dropdown menu, including "Clone from Standalone" and "Create from OS Template".

Final Step: Entering the Training Room

  1. Both Trainer(s) and participants need to click on the Training Room to join the session together.
  2. Upon joining the Training Room, the system will automatically clone the FreshStart desktop to all participants.
  3. Inside the Training Room, audio and video sessions can be automatically recorded.
  4. Each delegate will see two desktops (the Trainer's desktop and their own); explicit screen sharing is not required.
  5. Via the Training Room, the Trainer has a view of all Participant machines alongside their own. They can take control of individual machines to assist any participant if necessary. Each participant can only see their own machine and the Trainer's Desktop.
