Disk Cache Configuration
For I/O-intensive applications such as Primavera, configuring the disk cache to writeback is recommended.
- none: Delivers an optimal balance between native-level performance and data integrity by bypassing the host cache. This mode is the preferred standard for production environments and live migration scenarios.
- writeback: Achieves peak performance by utilizing the host's RAM as a buffer. However, this approach carries a significant risk of data loss if the host crashes before the data is synchronized to disk.
- writethrough: Guarantees the highest level of data integrity by confirming each write operation only after it has been committed to physical storage. The trade-off is noticeably slower write speeds.
A system reboot is mandatory after modifying this setting.
