GPU Reservations

Training Coordinators can secure guaranteed GPU resources for specific courses through the GPU reservation feature. This process grants these courses top priority for GPU compute hardware, ensuring that all necessary hardware requirements are met for the successful execution of training sessions and labs.

 

The following steps outline the process for establishing a GPU reservation for a course:

Navigate to the Desktops tab on the course page, and select the blue button located beneath the Video conference button, which is labeled "Reserve GPU".

 

A prompt will appear, requesting key details for your GPU request.

Begin with the location selection; the default option is set to "Anywhere".

If you are aware of the city closest to the participants, you can specify this manually by selecting "Within distance from city".

For broader location coverage, you may opt for "Others...".

Once you are content with the selected location, click "Continue" to proceed to the "Per desktop" section, where you can define specific machine requirements.

In this section, detail the resources needed per machine to help estimate the approximate cost of the resources.

** Accuracy is crucial here, as it leads to a more precise cost estimate and enables course managers to locate alternative resources if regional availability is limited.

 

If you are satisfied with the entered details, click Continue to advance to the GPU requirements section.

It is recommended to consult closely with the trainer in this section to determine the exact needs of the course. Trainers typically have a clear understanding of the specific GPU Vendor and Model required. If there is uncertainty on either side, leave this field as "ANY".

We currently support two Vendors (AMD & Nvidia).

Regarding models, our current catalogue is available for selection. If the trainer's specific needs remain unclear, please select "ANY" again.

 

Once you confirm the reservation details are correct, click "Place reservation." This action allocates the necessary funds, activates the reservation, and marks it as active on the course page, as illustrated below:

 

Should you receive updated information regarding the GPUs required, necessitating changes to the reservation, please reach out to DD support for assistance in modifying the GPU reservation request.
